QTW 57 - Changing the Window Size During Playback (1-Aug-95)
Q We play sound and video on our CD-ROM as interleaved QuickTime with continuous
sound and segments of video. Sometimes we have video segments that are of
different sizes. Can QuickTime for Windows handle changing the video window
size in the middle of playback?
A While QuickTime for Windows 2.0.3 does have limited support for multiple audio
tracks, it currently supports only one video track. You will have to combine
multiple video segments onto one track and manually change the window size
between segments. If the video segments have different dimensions, the
resulting track will have the dimensions of the smallest bounding box. You will
need to display the movie in a child window and change the size of the window
if you wish to clip the displayed track to the dimensions of the current
segment. NewMovieController will scale or center, but not clip.
